Overview
StarTech Solutions ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This policy applies to our website and to the fire detection, CCTV, biometric access, and networking systems we install and support for clients. It describes what personal information we collect, why, and how you can control it.
Information We Collect
- Information you provide: name, phone, email, company, and site details submitted through our contact form, quotation requests, or during a site survey.
- Usage data: pages visited, browser type, and device information collected automatically through standard web analytics.
- Site & project data: floor plans, wiring layouts, and system configuration details needed to design, install, and service your systems.
CCTV & Access Control Data
The CCTV footage, biometric templates (such as fingerprints), and access logs generated by systems we install are owned and controlled by the client site owner or operator, not by StarTech Solutions. We do not access, view, or store this data as part of normal operations. Where our technicians need temporary access to configure or troubleshoot a system, that access is limited to what's needed for the service call and does not include retaining copies of footage or biometric data.
As the operator of a CCTV or biometric access system, you are responsible for complying with applicable surveillance and data protection laws that apply to how you use the system, including notifying individuals where required.
How We Use Your Information
- Respond to quotation requests and schedule site surveys.
- Design, install, and maintain systems under an active project or AMC.
- Send service reminders, invoices, and AMC renewal notices.
- Improve our website and service offerings.
- Meet legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we hold, including access controls on project and client records. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
We retain client and project information for as long as needed to deliver services, support your AMC, comply with legal obligations, and resolve any disputes. System design documents and BOQs are typically kept for the life of the AMC relationship plus a reasonable retention period after.
